The John Keells vision project targets needy individual who lack resources and financial support to access timely eye care. The main project focuses on the eradication of cataract as the primary cause of preventable blindness in Sri Lanka. Each year, John Keells Foundation sets an ambitious target in the hopes of helping as many deserving individuals as possible. As at end February 2016, John Keells Foundation is pleased to announce that it has exceeded its annual target of 1,500 cataract surgeries for the year, with more cataract surgeries planned for March 2016. Since its inception in 2005, 10, 387 cataract surgeries and 4,844 spectacles have been donated.
