John Keells Foundation will be conducting HIV and AIDS awareness sessions for the National Cadet Corps in Rantambe from February 2016 to September 2016. A total of 28 sessions for the different cadet batches including officers and other officials at Rantambe will undergo the John Keells HIV and AIDS awareness programme which is expected to sensitize more than 14,000 persons. A team of dedicated staff Master Trainers who were trained under the International Labour Organisation and Employers’ Federation of Ceylon HIV & AIDS workplace programme, have been selected for this initiative and have specially customized their presentation to suit a younger audience. The awareness sessions will cover the nature of HIV and AIDS, how the virus spreads, how it can be prevented or managed, discrimination faced by HIV positive persons, and a Question & Answer session.
