A Career Guidance programme was conducted on 28th February at Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon in Hikkaduwa to provide relevant skills and knowledge to successfully enter the workforce and benefited 38 youth aged between 18 – 25. This was conducted under the John Keells Praja Shakthi initiative and was open to youth in the Hikkaduwa DS Division.

The programme comprised of presentations on career and growth opportunities in the Retail and Hospitality sectors of the Group conducted by Mohammed Nilshard and Kavindu Wijerathna of Jaykay Marketing and Cinnamon Hotel Management respectively. The programme also consisted of an Experience Sharing session by an entrepreneur in Hikkaduwa.

This was followed by training sessions on Personal effectiveness and motivation, Positive thinking and Positive attitudes, Essentials of Self Enterprise by external trainer V. Poobalasingam. Staff volunteer trainers, Pramukshi Kariyawasam and Ilmu Sariffodeen also conducted sessions on Personal Grooming & Development and on CV writing & Interview skills. The programme was concluded with an exposure visit of the hotel.
