John Keells Foundation (JKF) commemorated National Children’s Day under the theme “Investing in our future means investing in our children” through a poster campaign and a book donation.
The poster campaign focused on how wisely we can invest in our children by instilling values such as Respect, Caring, Honesty, Fairness, Responsibility and Discipline in our children. For this, JKF created the character of ‘Sathutu’ as a gender-neutral symbol representing all girls and boys. The posters were shared on social media channels and distributed among 11 schools in Colombo 2, Ranala and Hikkaduwa, 114 Keells outlets and 10 Cinnamon Hotels.

JKF also organized a book donation to schools in Colombo 02 associated with John Keells Praja Shakthi schools initiative. Books were donated to Al Iqbal Balika Vidyalaya, T.B. Jaya Zahira College, Holy Rosary Tamil school and Siri Sariputta Vidyalaya in Colombo 02.

The books include those collected from the staff book drive conducted in December 2019 and books since received from others. Mr. Terrence Fernando, General Manager, Cinnamon Red along with staff volunteers from the John Keells Group were present at this book donation.
