“Kala Pola”, Sri Lanka’s internationally acclaimed open-air art market, Kala Pola will once again unleash a massive riot of colour in Colombo as it opens on Sunday, 22 January 2017 along the pavements sidewalks of Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha in Colombo 07.
Presented by The George Keyt Foundation in association with the John Keells Group, it opens at 8.00 am and will continue until 9.00 pm the same night. The official ceremony will take place at 5.00 p.m. under the gracious patronage of Chief Guest H.E. Bryce Hutchesson, Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, which will be followed by a fascinating array of cultural entertainment, and will continue until 9.00 pm the same night.
Kala Pola has, for over the past 24 years, attracted thousands of visitors from all parts of Sri Lanka. There are also the large numbers of resident and visiting expatriates from around the world who throng the event and purchase a variety of Sri Lankan art on offer, in a fun-filled ambiance of music and entertainment.
